How Germany's premium armoring specialist builds security vehicles for heads of state, royalty, and global corporations.

Heritage and Founding Philosophy

Founded in Germany and headquartered in the European automotive heartland, WELP Group entered the armoring sector with a single conviction: that security vehicles should be built to the same standards as the finest luxury cars. Their engineering heritage draws from German automotive culture — precision manufacturing, rigorous testing protocols, and a refusal to compromise on material quality at any cost point.

Manufacturing Standards

WELP vehicles are produced in climate-controlled facilities where ballistic steel cutting, forming, and welding are performed by certified technicians to tolerances matching original-equipment specifications. Every structural weld is X-ray inspected; every glass installation is pressure-tested for optical clarity and ballistic integrity. The result is a vehicle indistinguishable from the factory original in appearance and handling character.

WELP is one of the few converters worldwide to offer a blanket CEN/TS 1063 certification on all produced units — not just type-approval of a demonstration vehicle.

Key Models and Specialisations

WELP Group's portfolio centres on the Mercedes-AMG G63 VR8, which they have perfected over decades of conversion. Their G63 programme is regarded within the security industry as the reference standard for armored SUV builds at the VR8 level. They also produce the Mercedes S680 Guard VR9 and BMW 7 Series VR7 as part of their executive protection portfolio, offering fleet procurement packages for government and corporate clients.

Interior Customisation and Client Experience

Beyond structural protection, WELP offers unlimited bespoke interior configurations: hand-stitched leather from European tanneries, aircraft-grade aluminium trim, rear-cabin secure communications suites, and air quality management systems. Client vehicles are typically 6–18 months in production. Purchase is conducted through exclusive channels with strict due diligence on the end user.
